This tool do not comes with MCM ISO image and it is also a pre-requisites for managing Task Sequence, creating bootable media, Capturing and Deploying Windows Images using tools like DISK (Deployment Service Image Management), OS deployments and hardware & performance Assessment.
Because its provides necessary tools to create, deploy and manage Windows Images without this tool MCM server will be useless. here i will tell you step by step installation guide for accomplish the installation of WADK tool in your MCM server.
As i am installing MCM server in Drive D but tools can be installed in any drive in you MCM server and i will be installing this tool in my C drive. Download WADK December or any lastest release from Microsoft site and open the tool adksetup
Specify Location Option, Choose “Install the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit to this computer” and provide the location you want to install in this article i will choose C Drive`s Default Location.
On Windows Kits Privacy tab, read details and and choose of you want to send insights to Microsoft or not from this tool. here i will be choosing not sent to insights to(No) Microsoft from my computer via this tool. and Next.
Microsoft Provides License Agreement on its almost tools, read if you wish to else accept and move further.
On Select the features you want to install page, Select Deployment Tools and User State Migration Tool(USMT) and Click Install
Deployment Tools are is a suite of utility which use for customization and deployment of Windows Images and USMT is tool for migrating user data along with settings during deployment of the image. This keeps your data same as it was in previous state and do not happens any data loss during OS upgrade and windows update.
there no any configuration requirement for this tool, just it need to be installed in the MCM server and rest MCM tool will run and manages this tool.
Tools has been installed in the MCM server.
